FAQ- 2025

Q.1 Does Strayos provide software training? Is an on-site training facility available?

Ans.- Strayos provides online software training and onboarding at no cost. Strayos also offers on-site training for a more hands-on experience. For in-person training. Reach out to the Strayos representative to schedule field training.

Q.2 Is the software suggesting a drilling design?

Ans.- Strayos will not suggest drilling design parameters directly. The software will help users optimize drill hole positions as per the given user design parameters and surface conditions.

Q.3 How to get a coordinate system for my location?

Ans.- Anyone can easily get the coordinate system (EPSG or UTM zone) either directly from Google or using this link: https://epsg.io. It is important to have the correct coordinate system selected for data alignment and accurate and precise layout of blast holes in the field.

Q.4 How to address issues when the software shows an error?

Ans.- This difficulty can occasionally be caused by system issues or a slow internet connection on the user's end. Refreshing the page is the first thing to do in this situation. If the problem persists, please submit a support ticket and describe any issues in detail.

Q.5 Drill designs need to be saved or not after completion. Sometimes it gets lost. What is the reason?

Ans. The system is programmed to automatically store the drill design when exiting the drill design module. If the drill design appears lost, it would be due to two user sessions working on the same design at the same time, overwriting one another, or a loss of internet connection during design.

In this instance, it is advised that no two people should work simultaneously from two systems.

Q.6 How to analyze the burden when a muckpile/blasted material is present in front of the bench?

Ans. When there is already blasted material present, the yellow vertical line must be manually fixed in order to examine the front row burden. Following the location change, the burden is computed accordingly.

Q.7 Why the discrepancy between the generated shot volume and a manually calculated volume (avg burden*avg spacing*drill length)?

Ans. Following accurate coordinates and elevation information, the generated shot volume is calculated based on the drill design, from the perimeter rows to the toe location. In contrast, without crest and toe positions on the 3D model, the volume estimate calculation takes into account the common burden length *spacing* hole length.

Q.8 Can we customize and fix the fragmentation tolerance limit sizes for the fragmentation AI?

Ans. Yes, we have a feature that allows to set a custom size at the SITE level and when the fragmentation dataset is processed, it will refer to the settings you have entered. This way no need to customize for each dataset. Once the size gets fixed, it will follow up on each project.
