Before we upload Klau PPK data in Strayos, lets first understand the best practices of collecting PPK data.
How data should look like
Images
Make extra images BEFORE and AFTER the flight. These images should be synced with PPK events. In whole dataset these images allow to get PPK positions of the ground points BEFORE and AFTER flight. These points will be compared with final reconstructed 3D model to measure the accuracy of reconstructed model.
Example : on the images below we can find that images DJI_0001.JPG to DJI_0005.JPG and DJI_0082.JPG to DJI_0085.JPG have been taken from the ground BEFORE and AFTER the flight respectively.
From the image content we can say that files DJI_0001.JPG to DJI_0005.JPG and DJI_0082.JPG, DJI_0083.JPG corresponded to one ground location and files DJI_0084.JPG and DJI_0085.JPG corresponded to another ground location.
If the dataset does not contain images taken from the ground in such a case it will not be possible to make comparison of 3D reconstructed model and obtain the accuracy report.
PPK files
Binary files stored in flash-drive of PPK hardware should be moved to hard-drive from the flash-drive after each flight. Each new flight should start with empty flash-drive of PPK hardware without any files from the previous flight.
On the image below represented typical content of flash-drive which contains binary PPK data.
These files should be provided for PPK processing as well as images.
How to start PPK project with Strayos platform
1. Create new project and enable the High Accuracy PPK processing option.
2. Enabling High accuracy PPK processing option will open up a PPK resource page to upload the Klau PPK files.
3.Click on the browse and, Select all the Klau binary files. Click on submit once all the files are uploaded. A green pop message would show up on the window indicating that the files have been successfully submitted.
4. In the same window click on Next, to proceed with the upload of images.
When the data is processed it will appear in your dashboard as usual.
How to obtain accuracy report of 3D reconstructed model
After project has been successfully finished we can find the accuracy report by clicking “Download” button.
Report contains the 2D orthophoto of reconstructed model with labels corresponded to ground points.
