Auto Update
Strayos Offline (Standalone) App has auto-updating capability when there is Internet connectivity.
During every launch, the app will check if there for updates and automatically update itself if there is a new version available.
Manual Update
The app also provides an option to manually update in case the user just wants to update the app without launching the application.
To manually update the app, open strayos-offline directory and run the update.bat script. This script will check if there are any updates to the application and update the app if a new version is available.
Patching the Offline App
Occasionally, there arises a need where certain class of updates to the application cannot be done through the above methods. In such a case, a patch file would be provided by Strayos team. The patch file will be a zip file with the naming convention strayos-offline-<version>-patch.zip.
These are the steps to install the patch file:
- Extract the patch file to find a folder named strayos-offline inside it.
- Copy the entire folder and paste it in the same location as the actual strayos-offline installation location.
- Windows will show a prompt asking permission to replace the files in the destination. Select Replace option.
- Run update.bat script in strayos-offline folder to update the application
